Located on 350 acres, Blisswood Bed & Breakfast is a working ranch close to Houston where you can enjoy a peaceful getaway with many farm animals. At Blisswood Ranch, guests can enjoy nature hikes, canoeing, archery, horseback riding, fishing, and so much more. They even have their own animal safari tours that kids and adults will love!

Your visit will be self-catering in a cabin, house, glamping setup, or an RV. The cabins can sleep groups of up to 6 people, while the houses can sleep up to 10. You can arrange to have a continental breakfast stocked in your refrigerator on arrival.

The ranch offers an array of special packages. Their “Ride Off Into The Sunset” package includes a guided horseback ride, a picnic for two, and a grill and pizza package. Meanwhile, the “Wellness on the Range” package consists of a massage or reiki session, extra amenities in your room to help you relax, and more. You can also book the property for special private events like weddings or retreats.

Cibolo Creek Ranch is a luxury all-inclusive dude ranch outside of Marfa in West Texas. The expansive 30,000-acre property sits at the bottom of the Chinati Mountains in Big Bend Country and has its own private airport for ease of access.

The property offers hunting opportunities, museums, a pool, a fitness room, and a library, plus daily yoga classes and massage services. You can explore the grounds on horseback or on an ATV tour.

Their restaurant serves all three meals of the day with a southwestern-focused menu. The bar and lounge are open throughout the day, and guests can taste regional drinks as well as a selection of Mexican beers.

Accommodations include poolside or lakeside rooms as well as suites. One of the highlights of the Cibolo Creek Ranch is the historic forts, which are available to rent out and can fit groups of up to 25 people.

The 725-acre ranch gives you access to a whole host of activities. You can go fishing in the pond, go horseback riding, or enjoy a hayride. There are facilities for sports like basketball, ping-pong, and tetherball.

Just outside of Bandera and to the northwest of San Antonio is the Flying L Ranch Resort. The ranch is family-owned and boasts a huge number of facilities, including an 18-hole golf course & driving range.

There are dozens of different room types with one, all the way up to ten bedrooms. The ranch resort has everything from villas to lodges and other places to stay. Since 1947, the Flying L Ranch Resort has served as a place for people to escape from the city and enjoy the peaceful Texas countryside.

There are loads of fun activities at the ranch. The ranch has a variety of sports facilities for basketball, volleyball, horseshoes, and there are also spaces for fishing and evening campfires. There is a playground for kids and a pool for everyone.

The ranch’s bar & grill is open for meals and drinks. They host seasonal BBQ dinners and country music shows. Horseback riding can be arranged with nearby providers. The ranch is also open for private events like weddings and corporate retreats.

Mayan Dude Ranch

Family-owned Mayan Dude Ranch sits in the Lowlands of the Medina River on 350 acres. On your visit, you’ll get to experience ranch life every day. The days start out with breakfast feasts and carry on throughout with horseback riding and more. Every guest has the opportunity to go on two rides daily. There are also hay rides, swimming pools, and sports like tennis or volleyball.

Mayan Ranch is very well known for its food, which is made up of classic Texan fare. You can expect big meals and lots of meat, including brisket, ribs, sausage, and more. Unfortunately, because the food is so meat-focused, they don’t cater to other dietary restrictions.

They have cottages with one and three bedrooms as well as individual rooms in the lodge, which have one or two beds but can also be joined together for family stays. Expect live entertainment each evening in the form of music and dancing at one of the top Texas dude ranches.

Rancho Cortez Dude Ranch

Rancho Cortez Dude Ranch & Fitness Farm offers a variety of vacation options in Hill Country just west of San Antonio. You can come just for a day or for an extended stay at the ranch.

The ranch offers campfires, trail rides, swimming, and cattle feeding. You can enjoy the indoor and outdoor pools as well as the hot tub. If you choose to stay overnight at the dude ranch, it includes a selection of hotel-style rooms, lodges, and bunkhouses.

Guests can also come by RV and rent one of the two RV hookup spots. Wherever you choose to stay, all the packages at the dude ranch are all-inclusive. They have a fitness program that runs for one or two-week sessions and includes hiking, horseback riding, and strength training, amongst various other wellness activities.

There are also boys and girls summer camps offered during the school break. These run for a week at a time throughout the summer and teach kids how to ride horses.

Twin Elm Ranch

Twin Elm Ranch is a family guest ranch in the Texas Hill Country near Bandera. The ranch offers horseback rides on its 185-acre property. You can take a horseback trail ride, and there are pony rides for young kids as well as hayrides, which everyone can enjoy.

The facilities include a swimming pool and campfires, as well as spots for fishing, hiking, and tubing. Twin Elm has 22 separate units available for accommodation. Each one has both heating and air conditioning, but sleeping arrangements vary from room to room.

You can get one single king bed, a number of bunk beds, or a lot of different setups in between making this a great option for families. West 1077 Guest Ranch sits just outside of Bandera — 'The Cowboy Capital of the World'. You can make your way into town to enjoy the rodeos in summer and all the fun events.

While at West 1077 Guest Ranch, you can explore their 230 acres next to Hill Country State Natural Area. There are about 50 miles of trails that can be explored by foot or bike.

You can head out for horseback riding, but the ranch does not have its own horses, so you’ll need to arrange with them when you make a reservation. They can help set you up with a local outfitter if you want to get in the saddle.

Breakfast is available each morning, and while the property doesn’t have a bar, they do allow BYOB. There is also a pool to relax and cool in. Accommodation is offered in any of the 14 available cabins, each of which sleeps up to four people and has heating as well as air conditioning.
